You Be The Chemist Activity Guides
The You Be The Chemist (YBTC) Activity Guides: Lesson Plans for Making Chemistry Fun are CEF's flagship program. The Activity Guides, one for grades K-4 and the other for grades 5-8, serve as a teacher's aid. They illustrates the Foundation’s mission to promote the science of chemistry, the benefits of chemicals, and the importance of chemical safety awareness. The Activity Guides provide materials that are educational, exciting, and serve as great tools for community outreach. They offer new and exciting techniques that:

make chemistry concepts fun and easy for students and teachers;
provide an outreach tool for the chemical industry; and
emphasize the role of chemicals in our everyday lives.

You Be The Chemist Challenge
The You Be the Chemist Challenge is an academic competition that engages students in learning and helps promote the science of chemistry, the benefits of chemicals, and the importance of chemical safety awareness in a fun and innovative medium.

Lesson Plan Competition
The You Be The Chemist Lesson Plan Competition awards up to $1000 for lesson plan submissions from teachers across the country, showcasing innovative investigations and exciting chemistry experiments. The Competition offers a format for educators and industry to:

Reward innovative teaching techniques.
Promote best practices among educators.
Develop teaching resources for educators.
Help promote CEF’s work with education.
