How would 2015 National Challenge winner Daniel Liu describe his day at the White House Science Fair in one word? “Excellent.”

Yesterday, Daniel was able to view student projects, mingle with other young scientists, and even meet President Obama! Daniel was also chosen to stand behind the podium with a small group of other students (front row, second from the right) while the President gave a speech in the East Room of the White House.

Daniel says he learned that science isn’t just about making stuff, it’s about asking a lot of questions and doing research. Daniel added that his one regret from the day was that he didn’t have a chance to invite the President to the 2016 National Challenge in June!

This is the second year in a row that the CEF National Challenge winner has attended the event. It is a huge honor for the Challenge to be recognized at the White House Science Fair among top science competitions in the country. Our inclusion in yesterday’s event will have an enormously positive impact on the program, and we can’t wait to see where the Challenge goes from here!
