CEF is recruiting for the next cohort of our You Be The Chemist Essential ElementsSM Certified Instructors! Certified Instructors facilitate Essential Elements professional development workshops in communities around the country, and help to bring hands-on science to K-8 educators of all backgrounds.

What does a Certified Instructor do? Certified Instructors are responsible for organizing and implementing three workshops in their community before December 2017, and receive $500 in compensation when the workshops are complete. More information can be found in the 2016-2017 Certified Instructor Guidelines.

What support does a Certified Instructor receive? New Certified Instructors will attend a training conference July 24-26 in Washington, DC. All workshop travel, materials, resources, and training are covered by CEF.

Am I qualified to be a Certified Instructor? We are looking for educators of all kinds who have some background in science.

How do I apply? Fill out a Certified Instructor Application and email it to essential.elements@chemed.org by June 1, 2016.
