Welcome to You Be The Chemist  for Students!

The Chemical Educational Foundation's You Be The Chemist (YBTC) programs will introduce you to the exciting world of chemistry and show you that chemicals and chemistry are vital to your everyday life. 


YBTC Challenge

The YBTC Challenge is a fun and innovative academic competition focused on important chemistry concepts, discoveries, and chemical safety. Challenge competitions are exciting events that take place across the country, with state finalists traveling to Philadelphia, PA, to compete in the National YBTC Challenge.


Not only do National Challenge participants compete for the title of National Challenge Champion, they also have the opportunity to explore the city of Philadelphia, visit the Franklin Institute, and enjoy delicious meals at local restaurants. All participants also receive cool prizes including

T-shirts, chemistry sets, and much more.
