Stop by the You Be The Chemist booth at Celebrate Science Indiana on Saturday, October 1 from 9:30 AM to 5:00 PM at the Indiana State Fairgrounds and participate in the following fun and educational activities:
- Amazing Polymers – Have fun with several hands on activities involving water absorbing polymers. Learn what a polymer is, how these polymers absorb water and where they are used.
- Magic and Kinetic Sand – Have fun with magic sand that will not get wet when immersed in a cup of water and learn why it stays dry. Make all sorts of cool shapes with kinetic sand.
- Goofy Putty – Make some really cool goofy putty using white school glue and a common household chemical.
- Floating Paper Clips – See if you can make a paper clip float on water and win a cool You Be The Chemist prize.
- Take the You Be The Chemist Challenge – Answer two multiple choice chemistry questions correctly and win a cool You Be The Chemist prize. Learn about how you can get involved with the free You Be The Chemist programs from the Chemical Educational Foundation for K-8 educators and students (www.chemed.org).
