CEF will be at the Indiana State Fair this August! We will be running mini You Be The Chemist Challenges®, have hands-on Activity Guide experiments for attendees to try, and will have prizes for all! Check out more information here and below:
The Children’s Museum of Indianapolis – August 12 and 13 from 10 AM to 4 PM
The Children’s Museum of Indianapolis will be offering the following fun and educational activities:
- Green Thumbs – Make a “Garden-in-a-Glove,” and watch the seeds you choose grow into living plants on your windowsill at home!
- Say Cheese! – Create a small sample of cheese using scientific tools.
You Be The Chemist – August 12, 13 and 14 from 10 AM to 4 PM
You Be The Chemist will be offering the following fun and educational activities:
- Amazing Polymers – Have fun with several hands on activities involving water absorbing polymers. Learn what a polymer is, how these polymers absorb water and where they are used.
- Magic Sand – Have fun with magic sand that will not get wet when immersed in a cup of water and learn why it stays dry.
- Floating Paper Clips – See if you can make a paper clip float on water and win a cool You Be The Chemist prize.
- Take the You Be The Chemist Challenge – Answer two multiple choice chemistry questions correctly and win a cool You Be The Chemist prize. Learn about how you can get involved with the You Be The Chemist programs from the Chemical Educational Foundation for K-8 educators and students (www.chemed.org).
