All packed up and ready to go! Thanks to Quaker Chemical Foundation’s support, 250 packets of resources to key education leaders around Quaker facilities nationwide are headed out the door.

The Quaker Chemical Foundation makes a positive impact in communities surrounding Quaker Chemical Corporation® facilities through it’s grant program, matching gift program, and scholarship program. The Quaker Chemical Foundation awarded CEF with a grant to distribute STEM education packages to schools and educational organizations served by the Quaker Chemical Corporation. These communities include: Whittier, CA; Aurora, IL; Bingham Farms, MI; Detroit, MI; Dayton, OH; Middletown, OH; and Conshohocken, PA.

CEF hopes that by distributing these materials, a conversation between Quaker employees, local educators, and CEF will open up numerous opportunities for future program collaboration, such as:
• Sponsoring or speaking at a local Essential Elements workshop
• Volunteering as Local Challenge Organizers or State Challenge Organizers, who help CEF to plan and implement Challenge competitions at the city, county or state level
• Using the Activity Guides to conduct science experiments or lead science activities in a local classroom
• Donating and delivering additional Activity Guide flash drives as requested
• Attending the National Challenge and interacting with student participants to share information about careers in the chemical industry
• Inviting student participants from the Challenge to tour local Quaker facilities to see chemistry in action in the workplace

Thank you, Quaker Chemical Foundation, for providing the necessary resources for students to discover that chemistry is fun to study, rewarding, and relevant to their everyday lives.
